Laboratory Courses at the University of Athens Observatory
Astrophysics Laboratories include practical exercises in performing astronomical observations and reducing the acquired data. In most of the cases, actual observations and research material is used in laboratory exercises, in order to train the student in image processing and astronomical data reduction. Additional laboratory exercises can be performed in the frame of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, either using the facilities and the observational data at the UOAO (control room, dome and telescope) or using the laboratories at the Section of Astrophysics, Astronomy and Mechanics, in order to introduce students into astronomical data processing.
